DIY: Paper Chains

I love paper chains! They are easy and inexpensive to make but add so much fun and whimsy to any party. I recently made a really long paper chain using some beautiful Martha Stewart Scrapbook Papers for my daughter's birthday party.

I cut the papers into strips sized 6" x 1" and glued them together using a glue gun.

Here's my littlest one, waiting for the party to start! She's all ready with her party hat on even though this was taken still days before the party! lol

A couple of years ago, I was at a bridal shower where the guests were asked to write a note to the bride on a strip of heavy paper. The strips were then turned into a beautiful paper chain. The friends of the bride had created a chain with as many strips of paper as there were days left until the wedding and the bride could cut one strip off per day and read the special message written for her. What an awesome idea!!! A wonderful way to countdown to the BIG day!

Now, of course, I'm thinking of all the variations on that idea...countdown to a baby's due date, a birthday, Christmas, or any special occasion!

Have a sunny sweet day!
